Colour Me Home '23, '24 & '25 - a wellbeing project designed to support students and their families transition to boarding school life. Through art and the benefits of colouring, this book assisted families get to know each other and support positive well-being. I am very proud to have designed this with and for Santa Maria Boarding House as they continue to support creativity in education.
I feel privileged to have been a facilitator in this pilot program to support W.A.'s First Responders through art. Much research is now behind building positive mental health and the creative arts is becoming an evidence based approach to enhancing the wellness of people in high stress professions.

Helping students challenge the status quo through creativity is what I do well. Facilitating projects for young adults to help broaden their perspectives is seen here in SMC's Strive 9 Program which required artistic direction for thoughtful artwork to make and gift to a local women's shelter. This is a great example of creative problem solving thats gets paid forward.
CBC's Dean of Students (2020) identified students with issues that impacted their school experience and absenteeism - in most cases due to anxiety and home issues. Creative Arts Tinkering Session (CATS) was trialed allowing these students to engage new perspectives and reframe thinking to move forward. Over a semester CATS was timetabled into one weekday, and saw students in the program benefit and feel supported in a non judgemental and creative setting. Students were directed with prompts to explore issues/themes through art. On reflection they developed tools to make adjustments to their thinking and take positive action to set future goals. Art was a bonus giving a new outlet for coping.
Lakelands Lattitude over 55s Retirement Village jumped on board for a watercolour and collage session run as a community social activity. I learnt never to underestimate what ladies with 'artitude' can do - they are creative and skilled and this is often the type of activity that brings out the odd retired artist or crafter, who just needs an excuse to get back to creating.
A tea and biscuit break was mandatory and I enjoy sharing their abilities and conversation. The session included revisiting memories through music of their times and activity to strengthen fine motor skills to create.
