Creative Wellness for First Responders (CWFR) offers all emergency service workers in our community a hand at something new with a focus on creativity.
Former and current Police, Fire, Ambulance, Military, Health Staff, are invited to experience the many benefits of creative expression through this program. These introductory art sessions offer socialisation, decompression, distraction, help build resilience and relaxation;
- No artistic skills necessary!
This project is the first of its kind in WA supported by WA Police (Health & Wellbeing), Soldiers and Sirens Org. and Curtin University researchers who are capturing its ongoing results to approach Government with a hope to deliver this project well into the future. So far the results are overwhelmingly positive. Just read the report.
CWFR have partnered with other agencies and businesses who have provided in-kind donations and assistance. We proudly promote these partners throughout our journey and new interested parties are welcome to join us. Detective Senior Constable Evan Jackson is the projects principal contact, pd14641@police.wa.gov.au
The CWFR Project has seen a number of participants try their hand at Aboriginal art, drawing, painting, ceramics and woodwork. Aside from being relaxing, fun and mindful – feedback shows it has been extremely therapeutic - so please join in.
Keep a breast of all workshop details and join the program as a participant, or in spirit, to build positive mental health in all First Responders.
If the big settings are just too much, Kerry, from Small Key Studio can help facilitate creative wellbeing art sessions for FR's in Mandurah. Also know that her home studio is open to private bookings where FR's may like to be creative as a solo participant or in small groups under CWFR Inc. aims and objectives.
